Superbowl Update

That just about wraps it up. It's all over but the dispersal of money. And what a dispersal it is. For the first time in the history of the Ducey Pool, we have more than three
people splitting the pot. Way more. Twelve, yes 12, winners. It makes the jackpot a lot smaller, but the number of smiling faces much larger.

But that's not all that happened in the Ducey Pool 2005. Lublin set a single-season picking streak record by starting the season with 19 correct picks in a row. It was an
impressive feat. Unfortunately, his record only stood for 2 weeks, as Fujimoto, Garcia, and Humphrey ended the season with 20 correct picks in a row, getting them not
only the record, but also a share of the jackpot, AND also the distinction of being the first contestants to take a loss in Week One and still go on to win money.

Shout out to Keenan~J, our first serviceman winner. Lt. Commander Keenan is currently on his way back to Iraq, where the US Navy will most likely have little use for his
football-picking skills. Still, the Ducey Pool is doing its part to support the troops.

Also amongst the winners this year is the first AND second repeat winners. Sort of. 2002 Champion Flynn~M passes the torch to this year's Flynn~N (no relation). And
2000 Champion Weene moves aside for this year's Wene (not even spelled the same).

The honor of longest-participating winner goes to Ruehl, who first entered the 1999 Ducey Pool. Determination and hard work. That's his secret. Honorable mention to
Drier who has been donating annually since 2000. Slightly shorter duration of determination and only barely less hard work.

Which brings us, at last, to the forgotten ones. The un-dead. They can't be called losers, because they were never eliminated from the Ducey Pool. But sadly, they also
can't be called winners, because no one is sending them any of the jackpot. They are, officially, the Un-Winners. We had 18 of them this year. The only other season with
Un-Winners was 2002. It is not a fun place to be. You are powerless. Helpless. Penniless. But next year, that is going to change. As the first major new Ducey Pool rule in
over 5 years, any Un-Winners in future Ducey Pools will receive their money back. It will come out of the jackpot.

Spekaing of next year, you are welcome to enter at any time. In fact, as of this moment, let us no longer refer to it as "next" year, some distant destination. Let's refer to it
as this year. This year is the year we all have a chance again. This year, we are all undefeated for the next few months. Enjoy your time on top. As over 500 people found
out in 2005, it's a very unstable perch.

Final standings...
01 LOSS -- 12 Winners
02 LOSS -- 18 Un-Winners
03 LOSS -- 508 Looking for Revenge in 2006

Congratulations to the winners. Good luck to all.
