The woeful New York Jets fell at the hands of the NFC East division leaders, the Buffalo Bills, to open the season. But when the Jets pulled within 2 in the third quarter, they didn't look so woeful. Are they not as bad as we thought? Or are the Bills just a notch above woeful?

If there's one thing the NFL does not seem to deal in, it's karma. Just ask Ezekiel Elliot.

The Texans were the biggest surprise of the weekend. They did not channel a city's emotion into a roaring victory. It looked more like they channeled the city's exhaustion into a limp showing. Oh, and this just in: A football team needs a good Quarterback to be successful. Sorry Colts, Bengals, Texans, and 49ers. (Oh yeah, and Patriots.)

We are off and running. The dust is still settling on total numbers, but it looks to be settling in around 550.
