Pick Totals for Week 5

"Let's see if I'm as smart as I think I am. Go Jags!" [Atlanta] --Ramsden

No Jags. The Ducey Pool is all about timing, riding the badnwagon until the perfect week to jump off. This was not that week.

"At game. Raiders never lost at one I attended." [St. Louis] --Uliana

Note to Uliana: Please post your remaining Raiders ticket dates on the Ducey Pool Facebook page.

In the strangest twist of the 2013 Ducey Pool, none of the top FIVE picks this week had a winning record going into the game. In fact, the top three picks were a combined 3-8. And while the Rams and Packers fulfilled their promise of righting their respective ships, the woeful Falcons took a further step down the rabbit hole. In doing so, they shook up the Ducey Pool, dropping the bulk of the players to one loss, and filling the three-loss rabbit hole with 55 new names.

"Will next year's rules twist be, 'No picking against the Jaguars?'" --Olson~K

Next year? How about next week? According to my calculations, 275 people have already picked Denver this season. That means half of the remaining contestants will not be able to pick a 28-point favorite on Sunday. Oh, and the following Sunday? How dangerous does picking the Chargers feel after their outing in Oakland Sunday night? So at this point, no need for an anti-Jaguars amendment to the Ducey Pool constitution just yet.

Current Standings

"C'mon, Bandwagon, take me to the Booby Prize!" [St. Louis] --Baldy

For those of you not lucky enough to be undefeated at this point, remember that the players with two losses have a shot at the Booby Prize, with details listed above the Two-Losses chart. And even those eliminated have a shot at redemption in the Second Chance Pool in the playoffs. Never give up!!
