Pick Totals for Week 2

"Upsets dominate!" [Baltimore] --Alcus

Titans dominate. Other than that, no big upsets this week.

"Biggest spread of the week. What could go wrong?" [Pittsburgh] --Nathan

Nothing really. Nothing at all. What could be easier than a shutout? Never even a scare. And it was similar all over the place. Who would have thought the Lions would be a no-brainer cakewalk?

"I thought the deadline was Saturday at 10pm." [No Pick] --Young~B

It is not. It is Saturday at 10AM. A lot of people missed the deadline this week, which is understandable as everyone settles into the season. But many more will miss the deadline as the season progresses, and all will be disappointed when they are not allowed to get a pick in late. It is a story as old as the pool itself. Make picks a week or two ahead just to be safe. It hurts a lot less to forget to CHANGE a pick than it does to forget to MAKE a pick.

01 LOSS: 241 Off the Pace
02 LOSS: 16 Flirting with Disaster

"Already got the coffin built. Hoping not to nail it shut!" --Uliana

No one has been eliminated yet, but a few people are on the cliff, just waiting for the Seahawks to push them off in a sudden upset. What week will it be?

But remember, this year the rules are different for any "non-winners" left after the Superbowl. It is now thusly...

If you end the entire season with only one loss but do not win the pool, you receive your entry fee back.
If you end the entire season with two losses but do not win the pool, you do NOT receive your entry fee back.
Instead, the contestant who has survived the LONGEST with two strikes receives a booby prize of $1,000. So, the sooner you get two strikes, the sooner you qualify to win the booby prize. (If there is more than one winner, the prize will be SPLIT amongst the winners, with no less than $100 paid per person.)

This is a brand new rule, and it has already received a fair amount of hate mail, but we are going to try it for the 2011 season and then make a decision to keep it, tweak it, or dump it.
