Pick Totals / Update for Week 3

"Why am I on Houston?" [Houston] --Navarro

Why indeed? It was one of those weeks again where the top six picks were all winners. You could practically throw a dart at the big favorites and come up with a winner. And yet...

"I'm not going to be the sucker who picks against the Bengals." [Baltimore] --Artingstall~M

It's that kind of vision that wins the Ducey Pool. You have to sniff out the upsets. In the meantime, though, riding the bandwagon can produce many weeks of winners. For those who didn't go with the flow in week three, they saw their efforts to swim against the tide met with a wave of losses.

"Suicide is painless." [Oakland] --Sliken (RIP)

And then there are those that jumped out of the water completely. Three of them are gone for good. They are the first players out of this year's Ducey Pool, and they did it in style hitting the showers after Week Three. And though they may be the first to go, they will certainly not be the last. About 600 more of you will join them in Ducey Pool Graveyard this season. What week will you say good-bye?

And for those of you diligent souls who add up all the losses and figure out the numbers at home, you may wonder why there are eight extra losses this week. It hurts me to report that we had that many people repeat a pick. Eight people in week three!! I don't know which is more disturbing, that they couldn't keep track of the two teams they had picked so far, or that they couldn't see the repeats when they are listed so close together on the board!! Either way, it is a sad turn of events. Beware this fate. It is more common than you think.
