2006 Football Pool
Week 1 Pick Totals / Update
Players Remaining: 522
Total Hits: 70

The dust has settled. We're coming in at 520 players. That's a solid group. Nice work getting back to the pool without an invite. You have proven yourselves worthy.

Last week we took a smattering of losses on some less-popular picks. Meanwhile, the bandwagon appears to be gearing up for an aggressive start to the season. Get on it or get run over by it.

RULE CHANGE: For those who don't read the rules (most of you), the major rule change this season is that if you survive the entire regular season AND post-season, that is, the Superbowl ends and you have not been eliminated from the pool, then one of two things will happen:
1. If you have the fewest number of losses, you win. If you are tied for the fewest, you tie for the win (as always).
This is the new part of the rule:
2. If you do NOT have the fewest number of losses, you get your entry fee back. In other words, no more surviving the entire 21-week adventure and having nothing to show for it. Any survivor(s) with more losses than the winner(s) will get a tidy refund check, a financial slap on the back to say, "Fine work." This money will come out of the jackpot that the winner or winners receive.
