2003 Football Pool
Weekly Update

Playoffs Week Two

"I picked Carolina because I love kitty kats and hate animals with horns." --Sullivan~N

You don't need me to tell you what a monster football weekend we just endured. Four incredible games, a few surprises, and a complete leveling of the playing field in the Ducey Pool.

"The only shame is that none of these games was the Superbowl." --LaRose

'Tis true. It will be hard to top the overtime/last-minute-drives/missed-field-goals/questionable-coaching-decisions craziness of this weekend, but when pieces of a Ducey Pool jackpot are at stake, I think the emotions will still be running nice and high for at least a few people.

The unbelievable current standings:
Tied at 2-losses apiece: 10 Magical Souls
Out: 381

Endgame. Make your pick for Week Three. Since everyone has two losses, that pick will also seal your fate for your Superbowl pick, so plan accordingly. Can the kitty kats continue their unlikely run? Can the #1 seeds make it to the big dance? Will Peyton Manning have another "perfect" 22-of-26 outing? (And if he goes 23-of-26, will that be more perfect?)

Sadly, because of the "Dead Football Sunday," we will have to wait three more weeks to find out all the answers. But man, what a long and glorious strange trip this 2003 football season has been. Good luck to everyone.

(2nd-Chancers -- You have also felt the wrath of Fantastic-Divisional-Playoff Weekend. For the 23 remaining players, make your final picks this week and do not forget to include a tie-breaker total. Get through with no losses and be the closest to the 3-game total and you will have a nice little 2nd-Chance Jackpot.)
