Day 2 -- Tuesday, February 15, 2000

Gil Junger. Remember the name? He directed the pilot episode of the tragic The Hanleys two years ago now. That was the only time I worked with him, but we had a very fun week and I certainly got the impression that he thought very highly of me. So I was very excited to see him again on Movie Stars. I was a little disappointed yesterday when we shook hands hello, because we had just finished the table-read and he was busy trying to gather his notes for their meeting. So it was just a quick "Glad to be here." "Glad to have you." kind of thing. No time to reminisce about the great times we shared back on our fun pilot.

So when he approached me first thing today, I thought this would be the chance for us to catch up, or at least for him to tell me how great he thought I was back when we made our fantastic show together. Unfortunately, the first thing he said to me was, "Remind me, what have you and I worked on before?" Ouch. I guess I didn't have the impact I once thought. Now, granted Gil Junger works on a lot of shows and specifically a lot of pilots, so it's not the end of the world that I was tucked away in a file in the back room of his brain. And once I reminded him of our show, he recalled how great he thought the show was and how surprised ABC was that it had turned out so well. And the rest of the day was very enjoyable. Gil and Meredith and Zack and I had a fun time rehearsing our scenes. So the memory lapse will have to be forgiven.

Today was unique in that I had to go test for People Who Fear People at 5pm and the network run-through of this show was pushed to 5pm. Conflict. So every time we rehearsed a scene, we would re-rehearse it with Gil playing my role so that he could do it at the run-through. That resulted in a lot of laughs during rehearsal. Although, as I sit here tonight, I wonder what effect being absent will have on the the size of my role. I think the agent scenes were in a little danger to begin with, so it would have been nice to be there to try to save them. I just have to hope Gil was able to pull off some heroics and keep my scenes somewhat intact.

Go on to Day 3.
