Day 1 -- Monday, February 14, 2000
'Tis the season for getting a pilot and making a name for oneself. In the meantime, I have been surprisingly able to keep my mind preoccupied with little tidbits here and there. This week I will be preoccupying myself with a WB sitcom known as Movie Stars. Before this week I really didn't know anything about this show. Now I've got five days to live it.
Today turned out to be an easy day. The cast had to do publicity photos immediately following the read-through, so I knew my schedule would entail showing up, sitting for an hour, saying a few lines, and maybe trying on a couple of pairs of pants. And it was just about that. Cathy Reinking was there to comfort me. My main scene partner, Zack Hopkins, was nice. We talked for a little bit. And besides a few more friendly hellos, that was about the extent of the day. And in truth, that's about all I like to handle on a first day. I need at least a rehearsal day to get my feet wet.
Wardrobe was nothing today. They took my sizes and sent me home. They didn't expect me back until Wednesday, which is a bad sign. That means they were under the impression that my role was just a co-star role. I do appear last on the cast list (for now) so Mr. Big Hotshot Sitcom Star wasn't feeling too important at the end of the day. We'll see how the role evolves during the week before panicking and going back to Med School.
Go on to Day 2.
