I drove down to Manhattan Beach this morning for my audition with friend Laura Schiff. It was basically a chance to run the scene and receive notes and ideas before bringing it before the big boys this afternoon. The morning session went well. Laura was kind enough to set aside a fair amount of time to run the scenes a few times. My take on the scene was slightly different than hers so it took a few run-throughs to figure out he changes, but I thought we had it.
When I went back this afternoon, I read for four gentlemen, all sitting around the table as if they hadn't moved since the time I read for a guest star on the show. That audition went well, or so I was told, and so I had high hopes for getting this new regular role on the show. This would be an amazing new job to have -- new guy on a hit show that I think is well-written -- and it would be immedite, no waiting for the fall season to kick in, I would start tomorrow.
And so? Well, it's late, and though I thought I did everything I
wanted to, there has been no deal offered to get me on the set by
tomorrow morning. Too bad.
