Audition report--

It's been nearly two weeks now since I put the producers to sleep at my JAG audition. That was so bad it was funny. Today was so good it was inspiring.

The role of Bobby on this "young couple with two kids" sitcom is very right for me. Except for his "early-30s" age, this guy is put together but a little unsure, happy with his life but always questioning his choices, in control but always afraid things are getting away form him. It seems very cute and funny.

In preparing for today's audition, I decided to put together something that would make me happy. I wanted to turn the audition into more of a performance than a reading. I seem to be stuck in a rut of trying to give the producers what I think they want. Today I just did what I wanted.

The result was awesome. I don't know if I am going to have a shot at this because I don't think I look like the Dad of an 8-year-old. But as I was leaving, the casting director Sheila Guthrie said to me, "That was a treat." That was my goal, to bring them a little treat. It was very fun.

Go on to the Callback.
