Episode 144 Shoot
August 19-24, 2002

Another grueling week of work behind me. Unlike last week's schedule of three days on/two days off, this week they really came down hard on us. Two on/three off. I worked Monday and Wednesday this week. What a gig.

The tune is the same this week: lots and lots of down time. The schedule that provides so many days off also creates long days at work. When shooting goes a little slowly or gets behind schedule (or both), the day can drag on. There is no audience to keep entertained while we hustle through just one more quick take. We can keep shooting it over and over until everyone is happy. And shoot we did.

Wednesday was my only shoot day this week. I was there for about ten hours but didn't show up on set until about six hours into the day. Once we started working it was a fun evening. The scenes are simple enough. Each of the office workers has a few lines here and there. In between takes is the fun part. We have a good time under normal circumstances, but as the day wears on, and we all get more tired, the giddiness comes out and it's even more enjoyable. The cast is a good bunch, very nice, very funny. It should be a great season.
