2001 Football Pool Weekly Update

Week Seventeen

"Seattle. If they win, I am right about Trent Dilfer and Brian 'Big Mouth' Billick is wrong." --Lund~K

Trent Dilfer has now won his last 14 starts. 14 in a row. Hidden talent or lucky Bucc/Raven/Seahawk?

Speaking of luck, after three very quiet weeks, the bottom fell out of the football pool. A spread of NINE different picks suggested we were in for a little damage. As the dust cleared, over half of the remaining players had been eliminated. Say good-bye to Brown~D, DeRosa, Doyno, Eckholm, Gubbins, Kelly, Lord~P, Manoux~JP, Manoux~T, Mednick, Meister, Price~E, Schaffer~J, Uliana, Young~F, and Winer~A.

Our leader board has also shrunk. We've gone from 3 to 2. And those are guaranteed to reach the playoffs. The other 11 players can advance with a win this weekend. Then it really gets interesting.

The standings...
00 LOSS -- 0 Champagnes
01 LOSS -- 2 Red Wines
02 LOSS -- 11 Lite Beers
03 LOSS -- 188 Zimas

And, ladies and gentlemen, it caused confusion all year, but now we have something that no one else out there has. That's right. It's WEEK 18!!! It's a once-in-a-lifetime event. Thirteen people will get to enjoy it to its fullest. As you know, it is the schedule of games from Week 2. All games are on Sunday or Monday, so every game is an option. Just don't repeat a pick. It's not time for that yet.

Happy New Year and Good luck.
