2001 Football Pool Weekly Update

Week Four

"I, Boltin, being of sound mind and body do hereby begin the greatest comeback in DuceyPool history by choosing the Indianapolis Colts." --Boltin (RIP)

If it sounds like a last will and testament, it was. Of all the teams picked, only two lost this week. That's unusual. They were big surprises, though, and it hit the football pool hard. 58 sad souls had their faith in the steamrolling Colts and the rejuvenated Jaguars. The steam is gone.

"My pick for this weekend is Indy Colts. They will wipe the snot off of the Pats." --Briel (RIP)

We also have our first drop-outs. Three picks. Three losses. Not a good way to go. We bid farewell to Boltin, Briel, LaRose, and Sood. Eleven months separate them and their next football pool pick. Start studying now.

On the bright side, the most popular pick of the season proved to be easy pickin's.

1st place -- 90 Undefeated
2nd place -- 85 Slightly Defeated
3rd place -- 22 Heavily Defeated
OUT -- 4 Completely Defeated

The Week 5 deadline is the same as always: Saturday before dawn.
The Week 5 warning is the same as always: No repeat picks.

But Week 5 is different. I am going out of town Wednesday through Sunday. So picks will NOT be posted before the game on Sunday (unless they are in already). Do not panic, though, when I return they will go immediately up.
