[Need a ride?]

The rig

Day 7 -- Thu, June 26

I wasn't scheduled to work today but got the call last night. Boy, did I get the call last night...6:30am pick-up time at my apartment. So I hit the sack by 10:30 to try to get seven hours of sleep in. 10:30! I can't even remember the last time I even thought about going to bed by 10:30.

First up in the morning, though, was us boys riding in the truck heading to the cemetery with the football-shaped wreath. Shank and Don get in a little tussle and I straighten them out. The cameras and lights were rigged onto the hood of the truck and then the truck was towed through the cemetery. So after all my complaining (mostly to myself) about fake driving and how people don't look like they're really doing it, watching the road, steering, all that, it was finally my turn. Time to show them all how it's done.

The results? It felt fine. The wheel moved left & right with the car's movements so that must have looked appropriate. Looking out the windshield was tricky, of course, because all we could see was the camera and lights staring back at us on the hood and let's not forget there was no need to pay attention to the road. The bottom line-- I just won't know until everyone else does, when it's 10-feet tall at a cineplex near you.

Go on to Day 8
