Day 5 -- Tuesday June 24
Today is the low point of the whole adventure. On the set, Shank, Don, and Rusty have little if nothing to do. We opened the day carrying Sparky's casket to its final resting place. It went downhill from there. We moved off to the side of the gathering and were barely heard from again. (Scene 23)
All the heavy hitters were present today. Perhaps that's why the boys were relegated to the background. When Zack crossed over to pick up Beulah, we had pretty much the whole cast on the set: Debbie Reynolds, Sean Patrick Flanery, Brittany Murphy, Michael Jeter, Martin Mull, Kathy Najimy, all three bullies, even Sparky's parents and coach, and Eric Peterson as Todd, Reba's 10-year-old brother. In a way, even Sparky himself was present. (Let's have a moment of silence for Sparky.) Too bad my creative input was so absent for the day. We simply filled in spots on the horizon. Yes, I hate to say it, but we were nothing more than extras.

Meanwhile, behind the scenes, my efforts to change hotels continued to grow worse. Despite being told by the casting director and having it in writing on the deal memo, the producer again today decided I could only switch hotels if I paid for the difference. They won't honor the written agreement. And it took a week of the producer, Dan Grodnik, not returning my agent's calls to get this unchanged "decision." It's all such bullshit that they've kept us waiting while they didn't budge an inch. It gives me such a feeling of unimportance, a lack of respect. How could they care so little about me that even when I complain they do nothing about it? Well, tomorrow SAG is getting involved, so something should develop.
