If one cold reading showcase center is good, I guess two is better. Since there's no fee until you actually attend a showcase, it really can't hurt.
The scenario was the same - they assigned two people to prepare a scene. This time it was only a half-hour of waiting, and we didn't even use the whole 30 minutes.
My scene partner was Tamara Baron, and was definitely less into the scene than James was yesterday. We read through it a couple of times and then started to break it down like we did before, but Tamara didn't seem too psyched for that, so we did it a couple more times, and that was that. Of course, looking back, it was unnecessary to rehearse any more since we both got it, but yesterday's scene definitely benefited from the work. So, I should always make an effort to inspire "work" in my scene partner and then go from there depending on his or her willingness to examine the piece.
T.J., the head-man gave us the low-down on the place and then another man did the same, going over the upcoming schedule a little bit. He also signed us up for one free showcase. That'll be nice to see what it's all about before I shell out the cashola.
Take One definitely seemed a notch below One-On-One, but you never know where that first break is going to come from. (As long as it's soon, who cares?)
