Day 2 -- Thursday, February 18

Once more unto the breech.

Today as I drove to work I was hopeful again. With all of yesterday's phone calls and promises, it seemed that the powers that be were on my side and mobilizing into action.

The results?

I got the new pages when I got to the set. My four-and-a-half lines had been reduced to four, but two of them were now jokes and much more powerful than the original script. We blocked the scene during the afternoon and then had a producers run-through at 5pm. The lines and my attitude both generated a few laughs. I gave them my very best effort and things turned out fine. I still wasn't the new 'Guy' in the Pizza Place, but I was beginning to come to grips with my ego. My pride was relenting slightly and I had some fun.

Still... Kevin approached me after the run-through and said that they had decided to throw the whole gay character out. By tomorrow, Louis is supposed to be the biting sadist, pushing everyone's buttons in the room.

Prepare to return to the breech tomorrow.
