Show Report

So... let's go back to the beginning of all this...

Sitcomrades is the brainchild of one J.P. Manoux. He and I have been friends for many years. We met during a couple of shows he co-put-together with two Harvard grads -- the one-act shows, Theft and Revenge. We later appeared alongside each other in episodes of Caroline in the City and Oh Grow Up. This was our return to the stage.

J.P. had been approached by the HBO/Warner Brothers Television Workspace to create a possible television pilot and then mount it on stage in their theater. They had expected a different show, but because of some legal issues, it would be unavailable. So J.P. set about putting together a show from scratch. Not just any show, mind you, but a show in which the characters on stage would interact with characters from old sitcoms. The premise was used quite effectively in an old Steve martin movie, Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid. In this "pilot episode" of the show, the three live characters find themselves on an army base trying to get by. They interact with, among others, Frank Burns, Colonel Potter, Colonel Blake, Sargeant Schultz, Colonel Klink, Doctor Bellows, Sargeant Carter, and a slew of base psychologists.

I was not originally signed on to this project.

 Still under construction...
