Day 4 -- Thursday January 29

Fun day. The last days are always the best, of course, because you're actually starting to get to know the people on the project. And this project had some nice, fun people on it. And boy, did I get some time to hang out with them today! My call time was at 7:30am (the crew at 7am) so it was an early morning. I didn't end up heading home until almost 10:30pm so it was a late night. All told it was a very long day, which does not necessarily take too great a toll on me, since I'm just happy to have a job and long hours mean overtime, but there was definitely some fatigue setting in as the hours passed. But anyway...

[Battle o' Bands]

Last night, I recorded 5 1/2 hours of television to bring with me to watch on my dressing room's TV/VCR. So upon arriving, I settled in and worked on the Sabrina postcard mailing and was entertained by Wednesday night programming. I was sent to hair and make-up during Party of Five. And I took a trip to the set to see what was up during the Ellen commercial break. Then a nap. Then I grabbed some food and enjoyed South Park. Not too active.

They did begin working in the gym by 10am, but the first scene did not include me and then the Battle of the Bands scene included many shots in which I couldn't be seen. So no, even though I wasn't needed, they had not written me out of the script yet. Little did anyone know at the time, but the Battle of the Bands would end up taking 5 hours or so to shoot. Lots of coverage. Lots of angles. Lots of cameras.

Then, thrown into the middle of all this, the Backstreet Boys were special guests on the episode and were waiting to do their scene. So before moving on, we jumped ahead to their scenes and I went to see who was on Letterman last night. They even had a birthday cake for one of the Backstreet Boys, Nick, who turned 18 today. Lucky us. The whole event and appearance of the Boys was captured by an Entertainment Tonight film crew. God love the February Sweeps.

We eventually reached my scenes and they all went reasonably well. I might have preferred an extra take or two somewhere in there, but it was understood that we were slightly behind schedule as the 12th, 13th and 14th hour of the workday ticked by.

On the agent front, Joel King and his partner, Nina Pakula stopped by the set today. These are the very people I am meeting with tomorrow for possible representation. Jeff Greenberg and Rick Millikan set the whole thing up. They were on the set today to visit Jenna and Lindsay, both regulars on the show and clients of theirs. Jenna and Lindsay both had very nice things to say about Pakula/King, and they seemed very nice when I met them today. So, hopefully everything will work out tomorrow.

And so I again join the ranks of the unemployed in Hollywood. After four jobs in two months, I again have nothing on my plate. But that's fine because I really need some time to work on my golf game. Jordan's not going to want to take me out to Palm Springs if I'm slicing into the woods, you know.
