Reading report--

Old college chum Glenn Kessler wrote and mounted this production in New York City a couple of years ago. He has decided to take another look at it and see if there's any hope of developing it further. It's the tale of two men, both suffering from scoial ineptitude, as they try to woo two young ladies over cocktails and PlayStation. It was very funny when I saw the production in New York way back when and it was very funny tonight.

Sadly enough, there is no real role in it for me. The part I read is the well-groomed, hot-shot boyfriend of one of the ladies and appears at the end of the play for about 20 seconds. I was magical. I also read the stage directions, that delicate task of providing information quickly but clearly, speaking enough to make things clear but not so much that the words get in the way of the action. And, anyway, I got to say a lot more than if I had just read my character.

It was good.
