Larry Toffler this. Larry Toffler that. Larry Toffler has written yet another screenplay. He is the veritable Stephen King of my friends in L.A. This time he has penned an adaptation of a true story, the rise of a successful businessman, Morgan (read by me), in the face of adversity from family and educators alike. It is a heart-warming tale, marred only by the sometimes cliche stylings of its truth.
We met in the Studio Colony rec room, Larry and Chantel brought chips and goodies for their fifteen or so guests. It was a familiar scene. The reading went well. Larry's strength is his facility for smooth, natural dialogue. Most of the scenes flowed beautifully. The overall structure of the story needs some streamlining and that's basically where Larry knew he was on the project.
It was a fun outing.
