Headshots

November 28, 1994
Lisa Hergo

The rumblings had begun again. ---headshots--- It had been two-and-a-half years since my last photo shoot. ---headshots--- But suddenly the dark forces were gathering strength, pushing in at all sides. ---HEADSHOTS--- I had to go back into the seedy underworld of photographers and proof sheets and, yes, OK, I need new HEADSHOTS!

Or so I have been told by my new commercial agent, KSA. They have taken me under their wing, but would prefer my headshot have the "look" they strive for. To accomplish that look, they gave me a list of many photographers who have successfully captured said "look." And so I started making the rounds.

This was, by far, the most research I have ever done to find a new photographer. All the different "deals" of my sordid past turned out to be useless, so this time, let's make sure I have somebody behind the lens that knows what they're doing and that I am comfortable with. After a few meetings, I came to the conclusion that I wanted a woman to be taking my headshots. Just feel more comfortable hanging out with a woman trying to get relaxed and casual for headshot taking. After that, I just started eliminating.

A few female duds and then the wonderful Lisa Hergo. I liked her book. I liked her. We got along well. Things were cool. Our shoot today went very well. There was a make-up/hair chick there who did minimal touching up and we just shot the usual, changing clothes, changing expressions, hoping to capture that one special shot so KSA can say, "Yeah, that's our boy!"
