Headshots

June 1991
Kevin Morrill

I guess this day officially signalled the beginning of my professional career. I had made the decision to pursue acting the previous summer after three gruelling but very rewarding months in Harvard/Radcliffe Summer Theater. But that day, I was laying out some cold cash. That windy Boston day in June, 1991, I would make my very first financial investment into my "Acting Career."

It was Patricia Goldman and Reid Ann Cottingham who turned me on to Kevin Morrill. They had both been to him and were pleased with the results. That was good enough for me. I hopped on the "T" and rode into Beantown armed with a couple shirts and a sweater. I made my way up to Kevin Morrill's studio and cranked out two rolls worth of investment. My BayBank check was handed over and the journey had begun. No turning back now.

Six and a half years later, I have handed over many more checks and invested more than a "T" ride into the city. And as I look at the newest batch of headshots, I guess I should try to tap into that same excitement and enthusiasm that inspired me to begin this journey. New headshots provide new hope. And with the spirit of Johnny Dickshot watching over me, now may be the time for it all to come together. [Nov 4, 1997]

I got my first batch of 8x10 lithographs ordered today. I went to the place listed in Drama-Logue. It was convenient, right up on Ventura Blvd, and the advertised price was $67.00, about the lowest advertised in the paper and cheaper than the Paper Chase, where Pier and I guess Lyra go for theirs. Now I must sit and wait until next Thursday, the 26th, to get the prints. What a pain.

They're here! 300 of me. Just page after page after page of "Hello, I'm John Ducey." I'm getting closer. little by little, I'm getting there.
