Monday August 18 -- Day 1

Nothing fabulous to report from the set of LateLine. I reported to Stage 32 on the Paramount lot in the heart of Hollywood at 9:30 this morning. I checked in, reported to wardrobe, picked up my paramedic's jumpsuit, dropped my stuff off in my trailer, reported to hair and makeup, and then relaxed while awaiting my big scene.

The paramedic has two scenes. Today we blocked and then shot the second one (chronologically) and then later in the day blocked the first one, which will be filmed tomorrow in front of a live audience.

The morning was spent walking around the lot, using the phone, visiting Cathy Reinking in Jeff Greenberg's office, and getting a visit from an old tutoring student, Jenn Stein, who is working in the government affairs department on the lot this summer. The second scene was blocked and shot around 1:00 and then back to the hanging out. I put together some lunch off of the craft service table and then lay down for a nap from 3:00 to 5:00.

Returning into the set I was called upon to rehearse and block the first scene for tomorrow. Both Al Franken and Miguel Ferrer, who is in my scene with me, were very nice. The scene is nothing magical and should be fine tomorrow. I delivered the line the way I think it should be written the last time we rehearsed it. I don't think anyone noticed or cared, so I'll probably have to say it as written tomorrow. I don't really feel comfortable telling someone on the show how I think the line should read. I'm just the paramedic after all.

Go on to Day 2
