Interview report--

It seems fitting that I begin a new journal today. If all goes well, this should be the beginning of a new phase in my career.

The circumstances are as follows: I have been in Los Angeles for 25 months. I have an agent. I have good pictures. I have a handful of good connections. And now, as of today, for the first time I have a manager.

I met with Don Gibble over a little lunch today in Toluca Lake. He won me over. I must admit I was skeptical, not too anxious to give away another chunk of every pay-check, but he seemed professional, he seemed driven, he seemed like he enjoyed his shtick and was doing pretty well off of it. But could he help me do well?

Mara gave him the thumbs up. That was very important. There is no need to get Mara pissed off by getting a manager, but she was the one who recommended me to him, and she seemed confident that "he gets his people auditions." And that is certainly something I would like to have more of.

He spoke about his client list, not too large, about 20 total, but mostly kids. His adults are two leading women, two leading men (30s) and an older couple, character-type, silver-haired kind of folks. So, that was good One of them is currently on a soap. That was good. And there was much talk of soaps. That, to me, was good. Other people might be put off by even the mention of soaps, but I really think that's where I want to be next, and am at the appropriate level as an actor to be there. I made that clear to Don.

And by the end of my sweet-and-sour chicken, I was convinced it certainly couldn't hurt to work with him, and he has given me the hope that it will help. Perhaps a lot.

So cross your fingers. I hope this one works.
