Day
4 -- Monday January 19
Today was the lull in the schedule. After a Golden Globe-less night for Frasier and its actors, the mood was quiet and calm. There was not much real rehearsing to be done. It was a technical day. The crew was all present today and each scene was blocked for camera. It's a relatively tricky process, synchronizing four cameras to move and zoom and swoop in unison to cover the whole scene from every angle on one go-through. But that's why they pay these guys the big bucks, right?
Kama Lee was on the set today and got to see the run-through of my scene with camera rehearsal. It was a little noisy and congested as the four camera teams worked through the 12-minute scene, but she was able to get the gist of it. Both David and Bebe were very pleasant and outgoing to her which I take as a truer indicator of genuine friendliness. One could argue that they have a reason to be nice to me, because they have to work with me. They don't really have a good reason to be nice to friends of mine that show up on the set, but both of them were very nice. (And, of course, Kama is very personable and charming so it's easy to get along with her.)
And that was it. It was a preponderance of downtime today. I was up and performing for about 30 minutes of the four-and-a-half hour day. Good day to have Kama around to hang out with. The decision was made to not have a run-through for the producers and writers today because everyone feels pretty good about the script and the show and doesn't want to overwork it. Tomorrow is the big day...
