Day 4 -- Monday August 3

Camera blocking. The penultimate day is unfortunately always the least interesting and most unrewarding. The process is this. The actors basically walk through the scene so the camera operators can see it. Then they bring in stand-ins to set marks for the cameras, then the actors run it again. That is done for each scene in the show.

It's not a quick process, this camera blocking, so it took the whole morning to block the show. Then we broke for lunch, then we ran the show again for the writers and called it a day. My role has plateaued at four lines and will probably remain there through tomorrow night. (I know plateau is not the right word here, because that would imply my part had grown before levelling off, but I don't know what the opposite of that is. Disteaued? Ebbteaued? I think you get the point.)

Go on to Day 5
