Class report--

Theatre Rapport is alive and well. After a two month hiatus, the flourishing theater group has reconvened to take the dramatic world by storm. So, what's new?

Members. Theatre Rapport welcomed six new members to its ranks. Tyler, from Roy Cohn, was the youngest. The other five were all at least in their forties, perhaps older, leaving me pretty much the only member of my type. As far as old members go, it seemed pretty sparse. Hexan, Frank, Steve, Cynthia, Raphael, Miki, and a couple other familiar faces, but I don't know their names. Con was not there, nor was Chris, Betty, Jim, Jonathan, or the male lead from Bullets (my biggest competitor, type-wise). Also in attendance was a woman volunteering to stage manage and the director from Theatre Rapport's next full-scale production, "The Little Sister" by Raymond Chandler. His name was John Cosgrove and his most memorable comment was that the play isn't very good. Sounds perfect for Theatre Rapport.

I was assigned a scene partner, director & date. They are new-member Andrea Anais, a 40-year-old blonde psychic from Germany as my partner, Raffaele as our director, and March 4 as our performance date. I am a bit nervous about the whole thing, but ideally, Andrea will be the next Meryl Streep.

Next Wednesday, "Temps" will grace Theatre Rapport's stage with Frank, Cynthia, Jonathan, and Hexan performing Act One of a possible full-scale production in the near future depending on how it goes. The following Wednesday, February 19, is a BIG one. It is the much-touted, highly anticipated "Monologue Night." This apparent tradition, which I was unaware of until tonight, involves a topic, given by Crane - in this case, "shopping" - and then 10 minute monologues from every member of the group. Ouch. That's going to take a lot of work to prepare and a lot of endurance to sit through. I guess I shouldn't be too pessimistic. It may be fun.

Also, next Wednesday, after Temps, are the auditions for The Little Sister. That should be a long night.

So, Theatre Rapport is back. Look out.
