Meeting report--

Just because there's a TV show in the works doesn't mean everything else has to come to a grinding halt. The future is a very uncertain thing in Hollywood, California, so having options is always in one's best interests. I pursued my own best interests today at lunch with old friend Kevin Abbott.

Kevin, of course, was the creator/writer of The Hanleys, last spring's very funny but ultimately doomed sitcom pilot for ABC. He went on to run Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place all of last season and will be doing so again this season. There was a hope, last August, that he and I might work together on a new pilot this spring, but Kevin's Pizza duties kept him too busy to put together a project from scratch. So now what?

In February of this year, I played the small yet rewarding role of Louis on Two Guys and Pizza and had a great time. It was during that week that it became apparent that one of the show's leads, Ryan Reynolds, and I bare a resemblance to each other, one that would certainly lend itself to a credible familial relationship. In other words, I could play his brother. In the months since that appearance, the wheels have been turning in Kevin Abbott's creative mind. We met today to talk about some possible ideas for my appearance on the show and how challenging it is going to be to juggle the schedules of his show and my show. I, for one, hope for some successful juggling.

Nothing specific was worked out. We don't know our production schedule yet on Oh Grow Up, so we were really just tossing out general what-ifs and enjoying a lunch together. It's nice to think there's something in the works out there, though, and it would be fun to appear twice in the same night on ABC's Wednesday night line-up.
