Audition report--

There was something about this audition that didn't really speak to me. Maybe it was the concept: a sitcom where we watch a couple meet and date as seen through the eyes of an imaginery dating manual, replete with how-to voice-overs and makeshift analysis. It was all a little too cute for its own good in my eyes. Or maybe it was the dialogue, a little heavy on the monologues, light on the clever jokes. Or maybe I was just upset because my complexion isn't very good and I don't want to put my career on the line covered with acne. Whatever it might have been, I was a little unexcited as I drove over the hill to the Beverly Hills production offices for today's pilot audition.

All that changed.

The scene went very well. There were two other people besides the reader and both of them laughed at just about every line I had. They seemed very positive about what I was doing. The scene was very fun and I felt great about it. The great feeling was enhanced when they stopped me on the way out the door to make sure I could come back at 2pm today and do it all again for more studio people. Cool. This is turning out OK!

Go on to the Callback.
