Audition report--

It's ABC deal time again. This is the second pilot of the new season and from what I understand, it has already been picked up for thirteen episodes. So getting the role would mean having a job, not just a big paycheck.

The part could very well be mine. The character is supposed to be from money but trying to escape it. I can do that. He's also supposed to be a little unsure about his commitments. I can do that. And according to the script, he's also supposed to be a fat 35 year-old. Hmmmm... I might eventually be able to do that.

OK, so in that sense the part could very well not be mine, one might think. But all of the gentlemen reading for the role today were about my age and not fat at all. There were distinctly different types there, though. One Jewish, one skinny, one short, one beefy, one Ducey. The faces are starting to look a little familiar, too. THere's one guy (the short one) who was at the last ABC pilot as well. Until one of us gets a job, we may be seeing a lot of each other.

The audition went well. Not fantastic. Not overwhelming. But well. They laughed when they were supposed to laugh. I think they even laughed at a couple of extra places. I would love to have heard where the other guys got the laughs. I felt I had discovered almost all of them. Whether or not I really pulled them all off is another question. Sometimes I don't think the laughs were as genuine as they could have been. I did last out of 5 or 6 Arties, so that could have played a role. I don't have a fantastic feeling about it. Anything could happen, though.
