Ugh. "STU is hyperactive, a non-stop talker, con artist, irrepressibly energetic -- every muscle in his body works overtime. He needs to be constantly overstimulated. CAPTION UNDER HIM READS: 'STU -- MANIC'" That's what they want. You can picture him. The buzz-cut, skin-and-bones, heroin-chic punk-boy that sticks out like a sore thumb because he tries to. He's the guy who crashes upscale, yuppie parties to hit on the chicks and wreck havoc among the Wasps. Now ask yourself, "Am I picturing someone who at all resembles John Ducey?"
So what do I do? I love the fact that my agents are sending me out for so much stuff so I don't want to piss them off. I have a pseudo-relationship with Rick Montgomery because I've known his (ex-?)partner, Dan Parada, for a long time. So I guess I should trust his judgement since he "knows" me and thinks I'm right enough to call in. So I go.
The two kids (punks) waiting to read when I get there are just how
one would picture the kids who are the leads of this MTV pilot. And
then preppie-boy Ducey. I went in there and gave my all, spewing out
the lines in as hyperactive, non-stop delivery as I can muster. After
the first take, he tells me to turn it up a notch and we do a second
take. "Good. I liked that. Thanks a lot for coming in."
