Audition report--

I got the call yesterday and a big smile came across my face when I heard the audition was for The Visitor. Todd had oftern mentioned he would keep an eye out for a part that I was right for. And lo and behold, here we go... So I called Todd to thank him. He had no idea that I was coming in for the part. It was good, old April Webster, who I hadn't seen since a Nurses audition ages ago. But I had kept in touch with her and talked with her a handful of times when I was doing plays to try to get her to come.

And when I walked in the door, she flashed me a nice, big smile. Ah, April Webster. She pointed out the people in the room, including "John" who I assumed to be the infamous John Masius, the executive producer and subject of most of Todd's crazy stories from work.

The reading was actually four different scenes. They seemed to go well. The second was the best, in which my character was dressed up like a clown. Originally I had pictured a happy-go-lucky clown-guy, but at some point in my preparing decided to make him very nervous and uncomfortable being a clown. It got a laugh as soon as they saw what I was doing and then another one at the end of the little scene. I just hope it wasn't too clever.
