Well, well, well. When I returned home from the audition, I found waiting on my machine a message from Maggie saying they wanting me to come back tomorrow and to do the scene again the first way. I guess the tone wasn't so off after all. Now I just need to figure out what I did! It just sort of came out of me in a friendly way. Tap into that again somehow...
The callback this morning went very well. I did the first scene with the Mister Friendly Guy approach and it sounded (to me) great. I got some nice chuckles from the fellows in the room, most notably in a couple of spots where I had gotten nothing yesterday. Then we read the second scene, new for today's callback, and that also went well. I got a laugh for the little aside I added, which was good, but it threw the casting director off just a little bit, which may have been bad because it altered the rythym of the scene a bit. But really, all in all, I felt I did well enough to get myself a series regular role on a sitcom. The question now is, "Do I look like what they want?"
