Audtion report--

"Manhattan Man" is the latest "high concept" idea, trying to imitate the success of such shows as "Third Rock from the Sun." In this little sitcom, NICK is turning 25 and is expected to take over the family business. He, however, wants to be a lawyer, the one profession his father cannot stand, because they specifically interfere with the family business. What business is that? you might ask. Mafia? Doctors? Well, you'd be close, but you'd only be right if you guessed superheroes. Those pesky lawyers make it so hard to simply do a good deed anymore without lots of legal ramifications. Anyway, NICK does not want to take over for his dad, he wants to be a more legit crime-fighter.

The audition went very well while I wasn't auditioning. I told lots of tales, mostly about my appearence on It Takes Two earlier in the day, throwing in the tale of J.P. Manoux cheating to get on Jeapordy. They were very pleased with me during story hour. If only I could have left without actually doing the scene. Not that it was aggressively BAD at any point, but it did not "click" to any extent. I swallowed some of the lines and misplaced a word or two. It was nothing major, but it made it feel unpolished to me and that's not going to get me the lead in a brand-new sitcom.
