Oh, man. This is a good one. Funny script. Bill Lawrence at the helm. Show for the WB (who I think still likes me). Good character, right for me. Many times during pilot season you go into auditions hoping you have figured out a way to make the material funny. Bits, gestures, delivery, attitude -- whatever it takes to create humor where there otherwise might be none. THis was the opposite. I wasn't nervous about making this funny. It already was. Today the problem would be somehow making the material not-funny. That would be a disaster.
That didn't happen. I thought it went great. It felt funny where it was supposed to, and even in a few places I didn't expect. It was a solid audition and I hope to go forward on this. Bill was not there today, unfortunately, but I hope to see him at the next step.
