At long last, I went back in for Sperm Donor today. I was actually getting concerned that we hadn't heard from them in so long. New sides have been written. The first scene is back but overhauled. The extra page is back as an entire scene and makes up the rest of the audition material.
I went in today and Sean was present. He told the grand tale of my Back-to-Back appearances on Joey and Will & Grace, so that was cool. The first scene was absolutely great. The second scene was not. All the momentum of the first scene seemed to dissipate as I plodded through the rest. The problem, for me anyway, is that there is no actual dialogue between DALTON and the other characters in the scene. They are talking and carrying on a dinner conversation while I interject with barbs and asides. It's quite unusual and one of the harder scenes I've had to do for an audition. It all came out sounding very one-note, and I think that's how I lost them.
