Audition report--

The idea that I could book a pilot in mid-November and avoid all the madness of Pilot Season would be fantastic. On top of that, this is a good script, a lead role, and the type of character that I will have to end up playing in any sort of long-term-success situation. He's good-looking, successful, and insecure. Stud on the outside, dork on the inside. That's what I am, that's what I do best.

So it was a shame to get the news already that I am not going to go on to test for this show. The scenes went well, it seemed, but I guess they had some sort of problem with my chemistry with the lead woman. It's unfortunate to hear that after the fact. I wish they had said something while I was there about engaging the woman more. It was my first reading for the role, and most of my effort was focused on getting the words out in the right order. Usually, a "chemistry-read" will be the second or third audition, when the logistics of putting the scene up are less in the forefront of your mind. Anyway, that's all moot now. Just have to remember for the next time: If they have the other actor read with you, you have to create some chemistry.
