I put in some good prep on this one, more thorough than the average sitcom prep, because as any West Wing viewer knows, the lines have to come quickly and cleanly. No casual mumbling, no tripping over words, no cutesy character bits, this is about the dialogue, dammit! So I got the dialogue down, and it had a couple of bits in it for RONALD. It was quite good.
The scene itself went well. We read in groups of three, believe it or not. I think this is the first time I have ever reprted such a thing for a theatrical audition. Luckily my other people were good. We did the scene twice, once as classic West Wing patter, once as a more casual scene (still tried to keep the "zip" up, though). It felt good both times.
