It's never a good sign when the first joke tanks. These three scenes start out with about five jokeless lines. So already you're fighting an uphill battle. Then the first joke appears and it really needs to be a home run to jump start the scene. And, as I mentioned, I did not exactly round the bases.
I was not dead in the water, however. Unusual as it may be, I came back from that beginning and had a pretty good audition all things considered. They really enjoyed some later moments and I think I did a good job.
No time to dwell on this one, though. We are in the heart of pilot
season and I have two more auditions to get through today.
