On the plus side, this was an exciting audition to go on. It's for the lead in a movie, something I don't read for very often, and it's for a casting office that I have never read for, but I have seen their names in the credits of big movies for many years -- Hunt for Red October, A League of Their Own, The Fugitive, While You Were Sleeping, Message in a Bottle, need I go on?
Also on the plus side, I read for Cathy Sandrich, and I thought I gave a good reading today of a relatively tricky little audition. One scene involved talking to a dog, another had very little dialogue, which is hard to keep interesting, but at the end of our time together, I was happy with what I did.
On the minus side, I never never never book this kind of thing.
Movies alone are a thorn in my side, let alone the lead. Despite my
experience in sitcoms with talking dogs and cats, this "dog
whisperer" is unlikely to be played by me. But you gotta keep
swinging, right?
