Having someone in the audition know you is turning out to be more of a curse than a blessing. Today, the writers of the show, Diane Burroughs and Joey Gutierrez, recognized me from working on Yes, Dear this season. I think I turned in a good performance on their show so one would think that's a good thing.
Not so much.
I tore into the scene of the sleazy womanizer best friend, and behind
me the reel of my scenes from Yes, Dear as the perfect father
must have been playing as well. I made the jokes and they laughed a
little but I could tell as I left the room that this was not likely
to be my springboard to stardom.
