This was an odd audition. What was most odd, though, is that this is how one might expect all auditions to go. The actor walks in, the casting director and actor sit down and have a short interview. In this case, a first meeting, the two talk about getting started acting, the why, the how, the successes, the failures. Relevant experience would be important. (And it was.) And maybe a personal question or two. Then, they begin the reading of the scene.
It seems so obvious, and yet an audition almost never happens that way. No time, I guess. At the end of the day, who cares what show they saw when they were six that made them dream of being a star in Hollywood. If they can do the scene, great, if not, tough. I'm actually fine either way. If it helps Ronnie Yeskel remember me for future auditions, then let's talk about things.
Future auditions? Well, yes, I don't know that I nailed this
audition. It was one dramatic scene. I thought I put it together
well, but nothing magical. At least I got to tell her how I got my
SAG card.
