The role changed from being an accountant to a choreographer in the 24 hours leading up to the audition. Somebody wasn't sure what they wanted. I'm sure they were just trying to make it as funny as possible. (They should keep trying.)
I did my best with the material and I thought I got a couple of little responses out of the generally crabby producers. I lost them about 2/3 of the way through, though. Andrea was having trouble with the lines and she actually started reading one of mine, which was "I am so sick of you." She caught herself and when back one line and gave me my cue again. Then I responded with a line-reading that called her on her mistake, "No, I'm so sick of you."
That version of that line makes no sense in the actual scene.
Unfortunately for me, the producers had not followed me on my comedic
journey to riff on Andrea's mistake. That left me looking and
sounding pretty silly during that line and most of the ones that
followed. My career as an accountant turned choreographer was
basically over.
