Callback report--

It's been a long haul on this one. I read first on Friday, my marathon audition day that I endured while my body gave in to the cold brewing inside it. It's a little scene and shouldn't have been too much trauma. Instead I spent Friday waiting 50 minutes to audition. That makes a 60-second scene a much more serious ordeal. I thought it went well, though, and the writers seemed happy.

Back Monday to read for an additional pair of eyes. That callback was over the hill at Sony so it seemed to have an additional level of import. I was disappointed to see a lot of the faces from Friday also there on Monday. It also lost its sheen of importance when I, again, waited over 40 minutes to audition. I did the same thing, got another good reaction, and went about my business.

Back today. I spoke on the phone with the writers, who gave me some direction for the character: He's more "in your face," always treated like the smarter child, but probably wasn't, vies for Dad's attention, always tries to one-up his brother. Got it. I did it with a little more of all of that and they liked it, but... One more note: Try to incorporate the "salesman" persona in his everyday interactions. Got it. We read through it again and they seemed much happier. So I guess I have a shot at this one.

(Plus, did I mention that Tracy and her associate, Katherine, are two of the greatest people on the planet.)
