Audition report--

I was supposed to have a callback today for Men, Women & Dogs, but I got the call this morning for an emergency audition. Sam's Circus had some trouble at their network test and they are having a session today. This is the good stuff. I like swooping in after others have fallen by the wayside.

The show is about a platoon of men in World War II. My character is the right-hand-man to the Sarge in the unit. He's tough and seasoned. He's rugged. He's real army. He's not me. I realize as I am reading the script and sides that this is not up my alley. It's not even on a street in my neighborhood. But I'm an actor, dammit. I can do this.

I put on a little tough-guy accent and gave it my best. No one;s eyes lit up in the room when I was done. I had swooped, but I had not saved anyone. They will have to deal with this emergency on their own. I'm going back to the goofy shows.
