Audition report--

Charmed. A week on Charmed. That would be very fun. It's a campy show with hot chicks. What could be better? The role is good for me, an ex-jock turned demon. What could possibly go wrong?

"How tall are you?" Stacy asked as I walked into her office.

That was the one thing that could go wrong. I saw on the breakdown for the character this stern, boldfaced admonition: "PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT ACTORS OVER 6 FT." As I was approaching Stacy's building, I started wondering how I should answer that question if she asked it. It's easier to lie about your age than your physical attributes. I could much more easily pass for 25 than 5'8. But could I say "Six feet" and get away with it? I could probably say "6'1" but would that be enough. Without doing a lot of complicated math, 6'1 is over 6 ft. What should I say? What should I say?

"6' 2"

She didn't kick me out of her office, but I watched her write down the deadly information next to my name and saw a few other actors' heights listed there. Four gentlemen read before me. All four were 5'10. Great.

My reading went fine. My height, most likely, did not.
