After a drive deep into the Valley, I gave what I thought was a very solid audition. It was only a couple of scenes, delivered in a total of about 70 seconds. In that time, I hit hit the little beats in the scenes and presented two contrasting sides of the character. I had the lines down well and delivered them as I had planned. You can't ask for any more than that. Or can you?
It's the middle of a tiny dry spell of job booking. This is what it
used to feel like doing commercial auditions. Or at least the success
rate is the same. I never felt as good about what I brought into the
room during the dark commercial days. I think I am doing well on
these auditions. I just need to hit my stride again.
