Audition report--

As has happened before, of the two auditions I had today, I was right for one and wrong for the other. As has also happened before, I gave a better reading at the one I was wrong for. This one.

The role is AGENT PILLOWS and he is an unlikely secret service member. It is suggested in the script that one look at him would tell you that. In my mind, I immediately think of someone who is overweight or underweight. I don't immediately think of me. But my mission was to open their minds and make them see what else they should be considering. So my guy was unlikely merely because of his attitude. Yes, that was in the script too, but I needed to play it up to have any shot at the part.

My reading went well. There were those moments when I did something specific and I could see? feel? sense their reactions to my bits. They seemed genuinely entertained and slightly surprised by some of my choices. That was what needed to happen if they were ever going to consider me for this role. Now I just have to hope they're considering.
